They never expire

These are static codes: the information is inside the QR itself. They don't depend on any server, so they'll keep working even if this site disappears.

No catch

Many "free" generators make dynamic QR codes that stop working when the trial ends. Here there's no trial, no sign-up and no watermark.

Private

The code is made in your browser. Your wifi password or contact details aren't sent anywhere.

Scan it with your phone camera before printing. A static QR code can't be changed later: if the link changes, you'll need to create a new one.

Static vs dynamic QR codes: why ours never expire

A dynamic QR code stores a link to a server that redirects you; if you stop paying or the service shuts down, the code stops working. A static QR code stores the content in the code itself: the website, the wifi password or your contact card. That's why it works forever. The only catch is that it can't be edited: if the content changes, you create a new one.

How to create a wifi QR code

Choose "Wifi", type the network name and password exactly, respecting capitals, and the security type (almost always WPA). Print it and place it at the entrance, reception or on the table: guests or customers connect by pointing their camera, without typing anything.

How to print a QR code that scans well

Make it at least 2 cm wide (3 cm if the code is dense or has a logo) with a light margin around it. Use a dark colour on a light background with good contrast, and avoid glossy or curved surfaces. For print shops, download the SVG: it scales without losing quality. Always scan it with a phone before printing many copies.

How to add a logo to a QR code

Upload your logo and it's placed in the centre on a patch of the background colour. So the code still scans with that area covered, maximum error correction is switched on, which tolerates up to 30% damage. Use a simple logo and check the result with your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Do the QR codes I create here expire?

No. They're static QR codes: the content is inside the code and doesn't go through any server, so they'll always work, even if this site closed.

Is it really free?

Yes. Create and download as many codes as you like, with no sign-up, no scan limit and no watermark.

How do I make a QR code for my wifi?

Choose "Wifi" and enter the network name, password and security type. When scanned, the phone connects without typing the password.

Can I change the QR code's link after printing it?

No, because it's a static QR code: the link is stored in the code itself. If it changes, create a new one. In return, it will never depend on a paid service.

What's the minimum size for a printed QR code?

About 2 cm wide for short links, and 3 cm or more if the code is dense or has a logo. Always leave a light margin around it.
